The Tortoise’s Path to Financial Stability
October 3rd, 2010 by Janice Campbell
Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? The speedy hare was so confident that he could beat the tortoise that he took a nap while the patient tortoise ambled to the finish line. I think of that story often as I hear of different get-rich-quick schemes, many of them based on very good ideas (the hare was a really fast rabbit, too, but he didn’t win).
Although some get rich quick plans work if you apply the right blend of knowledge, diligence, and perhaps a bit of luck, it’s far easier to take the tortoise’s path to financial comfort. Rather than looking for the perfect idea that will catapult you into a six-figure income within a few weeks, it’s a lot more practical to establish multiple streams of income that can provide a solid financial base for raising a family, supporting an artistic or missions-oriented career, getting debt-free, or just being financially comfortable now and in retirement.
This blog will be about building multiple streams of income from home. I’ve been answering questions about how to do this for many years, so I hope to share a lot of what I’ve learned here.
